Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively reduce BOD of sludge in harbor or the like, by naturally dropping warm water to sludge through the other exhaust pipes, at the moment when methane gas is injected toward a water heater through at least one exhaust pipe, to heat the sludge.
CONSTITUTION: Solar light permeates through a top cover 1 and warm inner water, while the further permeation of heat and light is stopped by a black material 2. When methane gas rises from the rightside exhaust pipe 6 to a warm water portion A with the advancement of fermentation, a sludge layer 7 is slightly decompressed so that cool water flows in along a dotted-lined arrow direction from another sludge layer or a water layer 8 adjacent to the sludge layer 7. At the same time, warm water drops and invades the sludge layer 7 along a dotted-lined arrow direction from a water heater B. These two streams are competitive together, but the part of the warm water invades the sludge layer 7 and produces a heating effect on the sludge layer 7 due to the presence of the water heater B.
