Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate fitting of a tyre and a rim and to increase separation resistance thereof, by tilting in a specific direction and at specific angles the outer surface of a bead contacting a rim flange and the bottom surface of the bead that contacts the bead sheet. CONSTITUTION:The bead heel diameter DT of a tyre 1 is practically the same as the heel diameter DR of a rim 2 to which the tyre is to be fitted. In the shape of the tyre bead in a metal mold, tangent line S of the outer surface of the bead 3 of the tyre 1 that comes in contact with the rim flange 4, is tilted at an angle alpha, which is 0 deg.-10 deg. against the vertical line M that crosses at right angles with the rotation axis of the tyre. The bottom surface of the bead that contacts the bead sheet 5 is tilted at an angles beta, which is 8 deg.-30 deg. against an axis in parallel with the rotation axis of the tyre. The bead toe 8 is thus made tapered toward a tip. The tyre 1 and the rim 2 are easily fitted and they provide a large separation resistance force.
