Abstract
PURPOSE:To compensate the fluctuation of the picture quality based on the number of times of copy, by displacing the position, where an image is exposed through a charger with the back opened, along the rotation direction of a photosensitive drum surface. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum surface 5 consists of a photosensitive layer having a surface insulating layer, and a latent image is formed through uniform charging due to a charger 6, discharging and image exposure due to charger 7 which exposes the image simultaneously, and uniform exposure due to a lamp 8. The potential of the latent image is changed when copy is repeated; and therefore, a cam 14 is rotated to move the wall of the charger 7, and the position for image exposure is displaced in the open part of the charger 7, thus compensating the variance of the potential.
