Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable compensation of cutting edge by installing a cutting edge position compensation mechanism in the boring tool, and determine the positions of this mechanism and the driving mechanism installed to a member relatively movable against the main spindle by the instruction from the numerical control mechanism. CONSTITUTION:In the cutting edge location compensation mechanism, the boring tool body 16 has taper shank portion which can be installed to the main spindle 13, and the groove 17 is inserted with the cutting tool 19 to which a tip 18 is fixed. Further, an external driving mechanism is meshing with the boring tool, giving rotation to the compensation mechanism in this tool. Now, a motor with reduction gear is operated by the instruction of numerical control device, rotates meshing members for one round and is stopped. By one rotation of the engaging components, worm 30 and worm wheel 28 are rotated, causing rod 22 to move in the axial direction, and the edge of the cutting tool 19 is pushed to the radial direction by the tapered portion 23, resulting to make cutting edge of the tip to be moved to compensate the location.
