Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the measurement of many necessary sizes and shapes possible simultaneously and with one device in measurement of the sizes and shapes of shape steels such as wide flange beam, by measuring these from above, below, right and left by using an optical cutting method. CONSTITUTION:A wide flange beam 2 is conveyed in a direction A with its web 4 located horizontally and flanges 5, 5' perpendicularly. Beltlike luminous fluxes O1, O2 are irradiated in a diagonal direction from the vertical position of the shape steel, and beltlike luminous fluxes O3, O4 are irradiated in a diagonal direction from the lateral positions. The glittering beltlike patterns S0-S2, T0- T2, V, V are drawn on the surface of the shape steel by the beltlike luminous fluxes. These beltlike patterns are picked up with television cameras 10-15, and the image signals are analyzed with image analyzing circuits 16-21, whereby the sizes of the beltlike patterns, the distance between the patterns, etc. are determined. From these results, the necessary sizes and shapes such as web deviation, flange length and the like of the wide flange beam are operated by a size and shape analyzing circuit 22.
