Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a wide squelch range by branching a squelch circuit from an intermediate-frequency stage and by providing the squelch circuit with an AGC amplifier controlled with a squelch level control signal. CONSTITUTION:A squelch circuit 20 receives some branch part of an output from an intermediate-frequency filter 10 an intermediate-frequency amplifier 12, and it is inputted to a noise detector 32 by way of an AGC amplifier 22, an intermediate- frequency amplifier and detector 24, a high-pass filter 26, an electronic volume control 28, and a noise amplifer 30 to detect a noise component, thereby controlling an analog switch 16 provided between the detector of a receiver and an audio amplifier 18. Then, a manually controlled DC-level squelch control voltage input to a terminal 34 is supplied to the AGC amplifier 22 and electronic volume control 28 for control.
