Abstract
PURPOSE:To compensate mechanical deviation of reference angle sensor, by delaying an output signal of a reference angle sensor in the neighborhood of top and bottom dead points of an internal combustion engine by a variable delay circuit, and also, by making a strobo discharge tube emit light by the signal. CONSTITUTION:A rotary body having denticulation 7 is attached to a crank shaft 2 of an internal combustion engine, and the surrounding area is provided with a crank angle sensor 8, a reference angle sensor 9 and an index 5. And, outputs of sensors 8 and 9 are put into a variable delay circuit 17 containing a counter 13, and signal of the sensor 9 is delayed by a given time by setting of a digital switch 14 so as to make a strobo discharge tube 6 emit light. And therefore, by changing set value of the digital switch 14 so tht the top dead point position mark and the index 5 coincide with each other, and also by taking the output signal and making it a compensated top dead point position signal to be used as the base for operating cycle of the engine, it is possible to compensate timing error in a short period of time.
