Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a manifold type fuel cell with a simple structure and high reliability by providing gas flow paths with a structure of reverse functioning in a fuel electrode and an oxidation agent electrode or a separator and arranging these gas slow paths to cross at right angles. CONSTITUTION:Gas flow paths 3 provided on one face of an electrode substrate 20 used for a fuel electrode 1 and an air electrode 2 have a number of grooves (Flow paths formed along these grooves are called the first flow paths.) in parallel with both sides of the electrode substrate 20. A number of these grooves are divided into three groups of flow paths by partition walls 21a and 21b, the flow paths in the center are used for gas feeding and the flow paths at both sides are used for gas exhausting. Gas stoppers 26 and 27 are provided to prevent gas from flowing, in close contact with the sides of the fuel electrode 1 and the air electrode 2 on the opposite sides to the sides where a gas feed port 3a and a gas exhaust port 3b of the fuel electrode 1 and the air electrode 2 are arranged.
