Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a flame, formed in the vicinity of a wick, to maintain a steady combustion against an external pressure, by a method wherein first air holes are formed in an inner and an outer cylinder and in a position allowing a wick to be located facing and opposite to a fuel gasifying part, and second air holes are provided immediately above the first air holes and in a position where the wick is situated not facing oppositely to the fuel gasifying part. CONSTITUTION:A wick combustor is provided with a combustion chamber 5, which is positioned above a wick 9 supported between a wick inner cylinder 6 and a wick outer cylinder 7 and is formed with an inner flame cylinder 2 and an outer flame cylinder 3 wherein a large number of air holes 12 and 13 are formed, an outer cylinder 4 positioned outside the combustion chamber 5, and a double cylinder type combustion cylinder 1 equipped with a red heating coil 16, a red heating net 17, and a flame diffusion plate 18 at the top thereof. In said wick type combustor, a plural number of first air holes 12b are formed rectilinearly in a vertical direction in a lower part of the inner and outer flame cylinders 2 and 3 and in a position allowing the flame cylinder to be siouated facing opposite to a fuel gasifying part 9a of the wick. Second air holes 12a are formed above the first air hole and in a position where the flame cylinders are positioned not facing oppositely to the fuel gasifying part 9a. The second air holes 12a are spaced more closely than the spacing of the first air holes 12b, and a partition plate 10, wherein vent holes 11a and 11b are provided, is placed above the second air holes.
