Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the leakage of exhaust gas efficiently by connecting the valve rod to the positive or negative pressure source.
CONSTITUTION: In order to prevent the leakage of exhaust gas, a plurality of holes 7b connecting to a gap between a valve rod 6 and a valve rod guide 7 is provided at the intermediate portion of the valve rod guide 7. These holes 7b are so arranged that they are connected to an annular groove 9 formed at the wall of an exhaust gas passage. A hole 9a of the annular groove 9 is connected to a positive or negative pressure source 11 via a passage 10. Positive or negative pressure from the positive or negative pressure source 11 is supplied to the gap between the valve rod 6 and the valve rod guide 7.
