Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture various kinds of vessels, cabinets, etc. excellent in various physical properties with simple provisions, by simple operations and in low cost by a method wherein homogeneous mixture of synthetic resin with woody mixed material like wood meal etc. is melted and hardened in a hot mold. CONSTITUTION:The internal part of a metal mold 2 is filled with mixed molding material 1 of powdery or granular synthetic resin (such as polyethylene resin etc.) 11 and woody compound (woody powder, woody grain material or woody crushed pieces) 12 and is shut by the lid 21. When it is heated in a heating furnace, for instance, at 150-300 deg.C, the material 1 is melted and fixed on the internal surface of the metal mold 2 to form an integral coating layer 3. Unmolten material 1 is removed and collected, the internal surface of the coating fixed in the mold 2 is smoothed by a process such as heating, spraying, flame coating, electrostatic coating, etc., cooled and then removed from the mold to obtain a product. On account of reinforcing effect of the woody mixed material, this product is far more excellent in mechanical strength than synthetic wood of conventional synthetic resin foam etc. and not inferior to a natural woody product, and when part of it is substituted by glass fibers the strength can be increased further.
