Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled resin composition free from highly volatile monomers, having high heat distortion temperature, and applicable economically to a hot water tank and pipe, by compounding a side-chain epoxyacrylate resin and an allyl monomer.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is prepared by compounding a side- chain epoxyacrylate resin {e.g. 2,2-bis[4-(2-(3-acryloxy-2-hydroxy-propoxy) ethoxy)phenyl]propane} and an allyl monomer [e.g. (ortho-, iso- or tere)phthalic acid diallyl ester], and curing the mixture generally by radical polymerization. The amount of the allyl monomer in the composition is pref. 5W40wt%.
EFFECT: Since the resin can be cured extremely rapidly by ultraviolet irradiation, it is suitable for the continuous molding, such as filament winding, etc.
