Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the cutting and removal of a steel pipe pile by a method in which a self-setting fluid is packed into only the lower parts of steel pipe piles whose inside is partitioned into upper and lower compartments in order to form a pillar wall row, while an underground structure is constructed, and then the upper parts of the steel pipe piles are cut off and drawn out from inside. CONSTITUTION:Excavation is conducted by a screw auger and at the same time a self- setting fluid 16, e.g., a soil cement 16 prepared by mixing cement milk and excavated soil 21, is charged into the pit excavated to form a given depth of the pit 17 with the self-setting fluid 16. Then, a steel pipe pile 1 partitioned into upper and lower compartments is penetrated into the pit 17, whereupon the self-setting fluid 16 surrounds the steel pipe pile 1 and also permeates into the lower end portion of the pile 1. By repeating the same procedures, a pillar wall row 19 is constructed, the inside area of the pillar wall row is excavated, and an underground structure 20 is constructed. Soil and sand 21 are charged into the pit 17 for embedding, a cutter 22 is inserted into the steel pipe pile 1 from the ground's surface, the upper part 2 of the pile 1 is cut off alightly above an intermediate cover 3, soil 23 is charged on the upper part 4 portion, and the upper part 4 is drawn out.
