Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize an inexpensive and simple delay circuit, by storing energy from a power source when a power supply switch is turned on and discharging stored energy to a microcomputer for a time required for data saving without flowing it backward to the power source side when the power supply switch is turned off. CONSTITUTION:When an ignition switch 2 is turned on, the current from a battery 1 is supplied to a microcomputer 6 through a diode 7 and a three-terminal voltage regulator 5, and meanwhile, electric energy is stored in a capacitor 8 as electric charge. When the switch 2 is turned off, electric charge stored in the capacitor 8 is discharged to supply a constant voltage to the microcomputer 6. The current is prevented from flowing backward to other loads in the power source side by the diode 7, and a stop delay time is determined by the capacity of the capacitor 8. At the rise of the voltage of an input terminal IRQ, the microcomputer 6 detects turning-off of the switch 2 and stops an executing control program and executes a data saving program in the interrupt processing to save data in a backup memory which is not shown in figure.
