CONSTITUTION:The light potassium carbonate whose specific surface area (measured by a constant temperature aeration method) is 28,000cm<2>/g is used. That is, slurry of said light potassium carbonate is added to aqueous solution of methyl cellulose, obtained coating material is applied on high quality paper, and the ink jet recording type recording paper is obtained. Furthermore, by substituting a part of said methyl cellulose with polyethylene imine which is macromolecular cation, the recording property of the paper is further improved.
