Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect a mis-blow condition and avoid damaging a mold by a method wherein a transmitting passage and a receiving passage for pneumatic signals are provided in a mold of an injection blow molding machine, and a pressure detector for confirming the pneumatic signal is provided for the receiving passage. CONSTITUTION:After air is blown into a blow molding container so that a closed-end parison 1 is brought into close contact with the mold by the pneumatic pressure, a pneumatic signal having a pressure controlled by a pressure reducing valve 7 is fed through the transmitting passage 5 for the pneumatic signal during cooling. In this case, if the blow-mold article has been perfectly molded, the article is close contact with both blow split molds 3 and a bottom mold 4 under the effect of the blow pressure, so that even when a solenoid change-over valve 10 is operated, the pneumatic pressure is not transmitted to the receiving passage 6 for the signal and, accordingly, the pressure detector 11 is not operated. In the case where the parison 1 is broken in the blow molding process, the pneumatic pressure is transmitted through the receiving passage 6 to operate the pressure detector 11, thereby detecting the abnormal condition and stopping the molding machine.
