Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform activated sludge treatment of waste water of high cncn. BOD efficiently by supplying the org. waste water and return sludge increased to the same pressure and an O2-contg. gas to the inlet for an oxidizing pipe and flowing these as turblent flow then returning part of the org. waste water to the above-described inlet for the oxidizing pipe.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water A of high concn. of BOD components and return sludge B are supplied to a sludge mixing tank 1, and these are uniformly mixed M, after which the pressure thereof is increased 2 and the mixture is supplied into an oxidizing pipe 4. At this same instant, the pressure of air is increased to the same pressure as that mentioned above by a compressor 3 to make pressurized air C which is supplied to the pipe 4. The waste water A, the sluge B and the air C are flowed as turbulent flow into the pipe 4, after which part of the waste water out from the pipe 4 is returned as circulating water D into the inlet for the pipe 4 by a circulation pump 6. Here, the optimum pressurizing force is 1W7atm. Part of the sludge separated in a sludge separation tank 8 is returned as return sludge B into the tank 1.
