Abstract

PURPOSE:To gasify the fuel in an equipped with a pressure accumulator to pressurize the air and methanol to over the critical point by boosting the accumulator with a pre-pressurizer in connection with the cylinder to make pressurization in the compression stroke. CONSTITUTION:Two pressure boosters 7 are connected with two head-connected pre-pressurizers 5 through passages 10 filled with a working oil. Under the suction stroke the solenoid operated valve 4 is opened to sink pistons 6, 9 of the pre-pressurizer 5 and pressure booster 7, so that air is sucked into the plunger chamber in the pressure booster 7 and the methanol fuel is fed into this plunger chamber. Under subsequent compression stroke the mixture gas is pressed forward to the pressure accumulator 15, and the solenoid operated valve 4 is shut in the final period of the stroke. By this 2-system operation, the pressure accumulator 15 attains its critical condition in one second approx. after commencement of cranking, and the thoroughly gasified combustible mixture gas is fed into the cylinder. After completion of warming-up the solenoid operated valve 4 is shut to transfer to the operation with normal compression ratio.
