Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the captioned pump whereby the range of fluctuation of pulsation is reduced by a method wherein the opening and closing of a suction valve and a delivery valve are driven forcedly in synchronization together with the driving of the change in capacity of a pressure chamber by using an electrostrictive unit having excellent response frequency. CONSTITUTION:On a circular electrostrictive unit 6 bonded to the vibration board of the pressure chamber is impressed AC input voltage va which is shifted from input voltage ei by about one-fourth of one wavelength, while on electrostrictive units 23 and 24 for driving the suction valve and the delivery valve are impressed the plus portion of voltage vb in the same direction with the input voltage ei and the minus portion of voltage vc in the reverse direction to the voltage ei both of which have the same phase with the voltage ei, respectively. The pump is in the stroke of suction during a period A, while it is in the stroke of delivery during a period B. Thus, the responsivity of 200-500Hz is obtained.
