Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively wash and clean the inside of an anchor chain storage compartment by blocking up a discharge pipe connecting to an ejector located on the bottom of an anchor chain storage compartment, thereby to allow water to gush out from the ejector inlet port into the anchor chain storage compartment so that the water is mixed with the mud deposited in said compartment and the resulting mixture of mud and water is discharged to the outside. CONSTITUTION:An cylinder-shaped anchor chain storage compartment 2 is located in the forward part of the ship and on its bottom is placed an ejector 4. Seawater is supplied through a supply pipe 4a connecting to a fire pipe to wash the inside of the anchor chain storage compartment and then the seawater in said compartment is drawn up through an intake port 4b by the action of the ejector 4 to be discharged to the outside of the ship through a discharge pipe 4c or opening 4d. When washing the anchor chain storage compartment 2, the gate valve 4f installed in the discharge pipe 4c of the ejector 4 is closed while the gate valve 4e and valve 6 in the discharge pipe are opened to deliver water from the supply pipe 4a and the seawater will gush out of the inlet port 4b onto the bottom of the anchor chain storage compartment to stir up the accumulated mud in said compartment and discharge to the outside after washing the inside of said compartment.
