Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a device which prevents burning of a ticket due to overheating, eliminates the need for an additional heating control means, and heats and colors the concealed mark of the ticket, by constituting a heater using a special positive characteristic thermistor. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a ticket 1 is inserted between guide plates 2 and 3, and is conveyed to a heater 6 through rotation of feed rollers 4 and 5. A positive characteristic thermistor, having a critical point of a specific resistance being slightly higher than a coloring temperature of the concealed mark of the ticket 1 is used as an elementary material for the heater 6. If an alternating current (a) is applied to the heater 6, an intensive initial current flows momentarily to heat it to the coloring temperature of the concealed mark immediately. When the heater 6 is heated to slightly higher than the coloring temperature, the feed of a power reduces automatically to maintain the heater 6 at a constant temperature.
