Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable measuring of a thickness at a given position on a tread, by a method wherein, in a tread extrusion process, a measuring head, monolithically provided with a laser oscillator and an image sensor, is scanned in the direction of the width to operate the output signal. CONSTITUTION:A measuring head 4, which is scanned in the direction of the width on a tread 1 by a drive mechanism 7, is provided with an image sensor 6 collecting reflection light from a laser light LA oscillating part 5 and the tread 1. The image sensor 6 has a large number of detecting parts in a row, and a collecting amount of a certain detecting part is maximized corresponding to a thickness of the tread at an irradiated part, and the output signal is stored as a relation between a position and a thickness on the tread in a data memory 15 through an A-D converter 10, a memory 12, and an operational control circuit 13.
