Abstract
PURPOSE:To avoid the read-in start error due to point detection without providing a complicated array shaped detection section, by determining the read-in start timing of the video information of an original to be carried with good accuracy. CONSTITUTION:A drive section carrying an original and a read-in section reading the video information through optical scanning of original are provided at a video input device, and a detection section detecting the carriage of original is located on the scanned surface of the read-in section and the scanned surface is taken as black. The photomultiplexer current according to the intensity of reflected light from the detection section is converted into a voltage signal FV at a current/voltage conversion circuit 21 and binarized at a binary circuit 22 and the result is applied to a video bus transceiver 26. The signal FV is applied to an original front and tail end detection circuit 23, the time corresponding to the carrying distance between the detection of carriage of the original and the scanned sufface position is counted and the count end signal is outputted. The count end signal is applied to a video carriage control circuit 28 and a video bus control circuit 24, the output of the circuit 24 outputs the white video signal from the circuit 22 to a video bus GB to prevent read-out the start error.
