Abstract

PURPOSE: To control flow rate over a broader range without enlarging the valve casing by installing to the shaft along its length a multiple numbers of communicating ports, and also to the plunger along its length, other communicating ports to be connected with the above-mentioned communicating ports of the shaft.
CONSTITUTION: Communicating ports are provided, for the fluid passing through the shaft 40, at two positions 50A and 50B. The fluid passing through the former position is either allowed to pass through the communicating port 5a, provided at the plunger 70 which moves up or down in the shaft 40, or cut off from such passage. On the other hand, the fluid passing through the latter position is either allowed to pass at the lowest face of the plunger 70 or shut off. Thus, the flow rate of gas can be simply doubled. Minute vibration of the plunger 70 is prevented by minimizing the clearance between the shaft 40 and the plunger 70. Measures to prevent oscillation by the resonance is also provided so that the plunger 70 can be moved smoothly up and down.
