Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a galvanized substance with enhanced surface appearance and smoothness by adding a specified percentage each of Al and Na to Zn. CONSTITUTION:An alloy consisting of, by wt., 7.0-30% Al, 0.005-0.10% Na and the balance Zn with impurities is prepared, or an alloy consisting of 7.0- 30% Al, 0.1-5% Si, 0.005-0.05% Na and the balance Zn or further contg. 0.01-0.20% Mg and/or 0.10-3.0% Cu is prepared. By making use of the alloy, a galvanized substance with smoothness, superior surface properties free from a pattern and superior corrosion resistance is obtd.
