Abstract

CONSTITUTION: This alloy consists of, by weight, 38W45% Zn, 0.003W0.3% Zr and the balance Cu, 10W35% Zn, 0.003W0.3% Zr, <12% Al and the balance Cu, or 10W45% Zn, 0.003W0.3% Zr, one or more among Si, Sn, Ag, Ni, Mg, Sb, Ga, Ge, In, etc. in a range where the alloy has a β-phase structure, and the balance Cu. The reason why the Zn content is regulated to 10W45% is that <10% Zn hardly produces a functional effect and >45% Zn deteriorates the workability. When the Zr content is <0.003%, the effect of improving the functional characteristics is insufficient, and >0.3% Zr causes a change in the transformation temp. zone.
