Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the appropriate stability at the time of stopping, low-speed navigation and high-speed navigation by a method wherein an elongate central float body is provided at a central part of the bottom surface of a super structure, and side float bodies each of which is fitted with a hydrofoil projecting skewly downwards toward the hull center are liftably provided on both side of the central float body.
CONSTITUTION: The elongate central float body 2 having a sufficient buoyancy to support the total weight of the hull and having an area of water plane smaller than the deck area of the super structure 1 which constitutes cabins and the like is integrally provided at the central part of the bottom surface of the superstructure 1. The side float bodies 3, 4 are fitted at both side of the integral structure of a deck 1 and the central float body 2 in such a manner that the side bodies 3, 4 can be moved vertically by guides 5, 6. The lower ends of the side float bodies 3, 4 are fitted with the hydrofoils 9, 10 which porject skewly downwards toward the hull center. At the time of stopping and at the time of low-speed navigation, the side float bodies 3, 4 are submerged in water by lowering them so that their buoyancy acts to stablize the hull. At the time of high-speed navigation, the side float bodies 3, 4 are lifted and the hull is stabilized by the lift of the hydrofoils 9, 10.
