Abstract

PURPOSE: To heighten the accuracy of an air flow sensor and the charging efficiency, by controlling the flow rate of fuel with a pressure sensor which detects the negative or atmospheric pressure in an intake pipe downstream to throttle valves in intake passages.
CONSTITUTION: A pressure sensor 16 selectively detects the negative or atmospheric pressure in an intake pipe downstream to a primary and a secondary throttle valves in first and a second intake passages. In operation under low load, fuel is controlled through a first control circuit 18, a selector circuit 22 and a fuel injector 24 depending on the signal of an air flow sensor 10 while the pressure sensor 16 is caused to act as an atmospheric pressure sensor to perform atmospheric pressure compensation. In operation under high load, fuel is controlled through an engine rotational frequency detector 12, a second control circuit 20 and the selector circuit 22 while the pressure sensor 16 is caused to act as a negative pressure sensor. According to this constitution, the accuracy of the air flow sensor 10 is heightened to improve the charging efficiency.
