Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the resistance of driving of a steel sheet pile as well as to prevent the adherence of soil to the surface of the sheet pile by attaching a pipe with a charging port having a valve shoe which is closed by a driving resistance produced when driving the sheet pile underground but is opened by the resistance of the ground when drawing it out of the ground to the surface of the steel sheet pile.
CONSTITUTION: When driving a steel sheet pile 1 underground, pressure water is supplied into a pipe 2 and the sheet pile 1s is driven underground while moving it vertically. Since the pressure water is supplied from the charging port 3 at the lower end of the pipe 2 into the ground and thereby mud water film is formed between the surface of the steel sheet pile 1 and the ground, the driving of the sheet pile is made easier and also the close adherence of soil to the surface of the sheet pile is avoided. When drawing out the pile 1, a ground consolidating agent, e.g., wetted pressure soil, is injected through the opened charging port 3 of the pipe 2 into a drawing cavity 7, whereupon the ground consolidating agent embeds the cavity 7 and consolidates the surrounding ground.
