Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for washing water and facilitate the outer skin treatment, by means of nozzles for jetting air at a tilting angle to the long direction of the outer skin of a long Welsh onion.
CONSTITUTION: Nozzles 1 for jetting air at a tilting angle of 10W25° in the direction of the outer skin of a long Welsh onion are provided in a necessary number. The nozzles 1 are made slidable forward and backward in the long direction of the outer skin of the long Welsh onion. A switch 16 is turned on to open a solenoid valve 3, and the air supplied from a compressor is passed through the first air supply pipe 2, the solenoid valve 3, the second air supply pipe 4 and the third air supply pipe 5 and then jetted from the nozzles 1 to peel the outer skin of the long Welsh onion and remove attached materials, e.g. mud, simultaneously.
