Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate heat loss of a heating element, thereby heat a barrel effectively and make uniform the temperature of a molding material by a method wherein plate-shaped ceramic members are placed in parallel on the barrel- side peripheral surface of a heater, and a radiating layer is provided on the surface of the ceramic members faced to the barrel. CONSTITUTION:In a heater provided around the outside periphery of a barrel of an injection molding machine, the plate-shaped ceramic members 8 are placed in parallel in the manner of a drainboard on the inside surface of the heater, and the radiating layer 9 is formed as to line the surface of the ceramic members faced to the barrel. When power is supplied to the heating element 10 wound on the outside of the ceramic members 8, the element 10 generates heat and the heat is transmitted to the outside peripheral surface of the barrel through the ceramic members 8 and the radiating layer 9. Accordingly, even in the case where a contacting surface 15 for the barrel does not closely contact with the outside surface of the barrel, heat is efficiently transferred to the barrel through radiation due to the presence of the radiating layer 9. In addition, the relative distance between the heating element 10 and the barrel 1 is kept constant both at the time of cooling and at the time of heating.
