Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent displacement in position of a picture and to enable overlapping of picture at ultrasonic beam from a plurality of directions, by a method wherein a frame memory address is controlled by an output of a scanning direction detection circuit of an ultrasonic probing contact. CONSTITUTION:A beam direction detecting signal from an input terminal 2 is supplied to a register 3, and after it is temporarily stored under a clock control from an input terminal, it is supplied to a signal converter 4 to convert the signal into a scanning line number corresponding to a beam direction. An output signal A of the signal converter 4 is temporarily stored in a register 5 under a clock control from the input terminal 1, and the output signal B is compared with a signal A of the converter 4 by a digital comparator 6. In the case of A<B, A>B, a signal of a theory 1 is outputted to respective 2-input OR circuit 8, and in the case of A>B, the signal of the theory 1 is outputted as a control signal S to a multiplexer 7 where, if the signal S is a 1, the signal B is outputted to an output terminal 9, and in case the signal S is zero, the signal A is selected and outputted to the terminal 9. This permits overlapping of pictures.
