Abstract
PURPOSE:To efficiently produce rough shape ingot for asymmetrical shape steel economically by forming the shape of a flat ingot properly asymmetrically in accordance with the asymmetrical shape of a desired rough shape ingot prior to the formation process of wide broadside screw-down. CONSTITUTION:A flat ingot 1 is locally worked in the central part on one side in such a way that its end parts form a proper shape in accordance with the shape of a rough shape ingot for desired asymmetrical steel, and projections 15, 15' are formed in both end parts on one side, whereby an intermediate rough shape ingot 7 having a locally asymmetrical shape is formed. Thence, the ingot 7 is used and is subjected to wide broadside screw-down rolling, whereby the 2nd intermediate rough shape ingot 13 having bulges 16, 17 is formed by utilizing the bulging in the broadside end parts. By using this ingot 13, a rough shape ingot 3 for asymmetrical steel is formed.
