Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the heat-insulating effect of a heat collector, by a method wherein convection is improved by separating the passages for the upward and downward movements of water due to convection in a heat collector, a metal such as stainless steel is employed for the heat-collecting surface thereof, and said surface is blackened and coated with a plastic which is transparent and of inferior thermal conduction.
CONSTITUTION: The inside of a cylindrical container-shape heat collector 1 is partitioned into two stages, chambers 3 and 4, by means of a circular arc-shaped partition plate 2. Water pipes 6 and 5 are disposed at the upper and lower ends of the heat collector, and holes 7 and 8 of relatively large diametes are provided in both end parts of the partition plate 2 in order to make both the chambers communicate with each other. In receiving heat, the heated water in the chamber 3 moves upward, while the water in the chamber 4 moves downward. Thereby, the convection of water takes place, and the convection effect improves because of the convection routes which are separate from each other. A metal wall is employed for the heat-collecting part of the heat collector 1, and the surface thereof is blackened and wrapped with a material formed from a transparent plastic or the like in order to improve the heat-insulating effect.
