Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a change in physical properties of the ink and to enable the reduction in a running cost, by a method wherein, while an ink jet recorder is in a waiting state, ink suspends cycling and a head continues to control temperature. CONSTITUTION:If a power source for a printer turns ON, an electromagnetic valve 26 turns ON, and ink drops are jetted through an ink jet head 15. Simultaneously, with a temperature control circuit 24 operated, a heater 25 of the ink jet head is energized to start an ink temperature control, and printing can be performed. If no printing command signal is transmitted thereupon, the electromagnetic valve 26 turns OFF to shut down an ink circulation. This permits the prevention of the increase in a viscocity due to the ink circulation. The temperature of the head 15 is always controlled at that time, and printing can be performed immediately when the electromagnetic valve 26 is turned OFF by means of the printing command signal.
