Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the chemical stability and the heat resistance of the film of fluoro-resin by a method wherein, after forming the film of fluoro-resin, the film is treated with plasma ions generated in a gaseous atmosphere containing a reactive gas consisting of a specified vol% of fluorine or a fluorocarbon having a specified number of carbon atoms. CONSTITUTION:The film of the fluoro-resin is formed on a substrate by vacuum deposition, ion plating or sputtering. The substrate is then treated with the plasma ions generated in the gaseous atmosphere containing fluorine gas or the 1-10 (particularly 1-5)C fluorocarbon gas which is diluted to 20vol% with an inert gas such as argon or helium.
