Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare water-impermeable foamed polyolefin molding by the bead method by a method wherein a heated, fused foamed-bead molding is left between dies for some time when the resin keeps fluid.
CONSTITUTION: Foamed beads are filled in the dies, heated and fused. Then, when the temperature is high and the resin keeps fluid, the molding is let alone between the dies (in this case, preferably, the exhaust value of the dies is opened, the vapor chamber in the dies and the open air are circulated). Further, the dies to use should be able to change the cavity volume. The foamed bead is heated and fused on condition that the cavity volume is larger than the purposed dimension and when the volume of the cavity is returned to the intended value while the said molding is let alone, the water-impermeability of the molding can be improved remarkably.
