Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform the quantity production of a distributor at low cost further having an excellent effect of suppressing radio noise, by forming a layer of high electric resistance material in at least one of the discharge electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A material of silicon, used as the purpose for a layer of high electric resistance material, is coated on an electric discharge electrode 4 of a rotor brush 2 by the method of ion plating to form a high electric resistance material layer 5 consisting of silicon films. A distributor is constituted by those containing the rotor brush 2, that rotates interlocking to a rotary drive shaft in an internal combustion engine, and a plurality of sideward terminals 3 arranged in such a manner as to be approximately placed to a rotating locus of the rotor brush 2 through a discharge gap (g).
