Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify structure and assembly by forming an oil sump incorporatively with a crankcase.
CONSTITUTION: A crankcase 36 is constituted by a crankcase half body 37 on the left side to constitute the central crankcase main body, a crankcase half body 38 on the right side, and crankcase covers 40, 42 which are provided on the both sides of the crankcase main body. The crankcase half body 38 has a lubricating oil sump 44 incorporatively formed therewith by casting, and part of a cam 24 is dipped into the oil sump 44. The oil sump 44 is formed in such a way that it is linked with the supporting part 60 of the crankcase half body 38, and incorporatively casted with the crankcase half body 38.
