Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain smallish of the whole engine by providing right and left both bank protruded from a crankcase by means of displacing in the direction of a crankshaft so that air cylinders in the other bank may be positioned between the air cylinders in one bank. CONSTITUTION:A V-type engine body 1 is constituted by incorporatively providing right and left banks 4, 5 in V-shape from a crankaces 2 equipped with one crankshaft 3, an oil pan 6 is provided under the crankcase 2. In this case, the air cylinders in the sequence of odd number are provided on the right bank 4, and those in the sequence of even number provided on the left bank 5 respectively, the both banks 4, 5 are formed so as to be displaced just by a proper dimension L in the axial direction of the crankcase 3 so that the air cylinders in one bank may be positioned between the air cylinders in the other bank. Thus, it is made possible to arrange a cooling water pump 25, a distributor 22, a fuel pump 23, etc. in spatial parts 7, 8 formed thereby.
