Abstract

PURPOSE:To guarantee conformity of the exciting device of the super-conductive synchronous machine by a method wherein a selection is made for either an actuating mode by a set control angle or a by-pass actuating mode by a by-pass gate circuit, according to the output signals fed from a voltage-reactive power regulator of the synchronous machine. CONSTITUTION:The output voltage and current of the super-conductive synchronous machine SY are supplied to the voltage-reactive power regulator E through a pressure trasnformer PT, current transformer CT, and judgment on selection of an increase, decrease or maintenance of the status quo of a field current If is determined based on those voltage-current values in the regulator E. The field current If is set at a gate angle alpha corresponding to a converter region when it is to be increased. A gate angle gamma corresponding to a totally-enclosed state is selected when the field current If is to be maintained in the present situation, and the by-pass gate circuit C is turned ON to allow a loop passage to be formed. The field current If is set at a gate angle beta corresponding to an inverter region when it is to be decreased.
