Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize an inflow resistance through parallel arrangement of a flow direction with a small through hole in a large flow volume area and make velocity distribution uniform in a small flow volume area to prevent deterioration of a characteristic by providing a vane wheel with multiple small thrugh holes on the external side and a vane wheel with a limited number of vanes on the internal side.
CONSTITUTION: A vane wheel 10 with multiple small through holes 3 is formed on the external side and a vane wheel 11 with a limited number of vanes on the internal side. In this case, an inlet velocity (v) is high in a large flow volume area and a fluid flows obliquely in against a vane wheel, but the direction of a flow is parallel with a small through hole 3 when a fluid reaches the area of the small through hole 3, reducing an inflow resistance. As a result, a decrease in the discharge pressure, i.e. a loss of the said pressure is reduced. Next, an uneven velocity distribution is generated in the region of a limited number of vanes 11 over a small flow volume stretch as indicated by a group of arrow marks 23. However, the velocity distribution is rendered uniform by flowing into the area 10 of the small through hole 3 as shown by an arrow mark 29. Consequently, the deterioration of a characteristic is insignificant in the small flow volume area on account of a mixture loss of a discharge flow. Thus it is possible for a vane wheel to maintain a high efficienty over an extensive range.
