Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve a dimensional accuracy of a work by a method wherein a temperature in a grindstone guard is controlled in a predetermined condition against a room temperature to control a thermal expansion of a grinding wheel on every time after grinding works are finished.
CONSTITUTION: When a grindstone stand 13 is proceeded to a position of dead stop and a work W is ground to a predetermined dimension, a grindstone stand retreating signal is outputted and the grindstone stand 13 is retreated to an original position. A control valve 30 is switched in accordance with the retreating signal and pressurized air is supplied to an air nozzle 27 from a pressurized air supplying source 29 to inject the air into an internal portion of the grindstone guard 17. Thereby, a working heat accumulated in the grindstone guard 17 by grinding is discharged to outside of the grindstone guard 17 with the air and the internal portion of the guard 17 is cooled. When the internal portion of the grindstone guard 17 is cooled and a temperature thereof is arrived at a predetermined ratio to the room temperature, a control signal is outputted from a comparator 23. In accordance with the output signal, the control valve 30 is switched into an original position thereof and the injection of the pressurized air is stopped.
