Abstract
PURPOSE:To miniaturize a quartz oscillator and to fix the inflection-point temperature of frequency-temperature characteristics approximately at the normal temperature, by setting in-surface rotation angle (psi) so that the inflection-point temperature with near the normal temperature within the range where width-to-thickness size ratio omega/t of a quartz bar is 2.5-1.8. CONSTITUTION:In new coordinates X, Y' and Z' rotated on the X axis from the Z axis to the left by cutting angle (theta) (approximately 35 deg.) while the positive direction of the X axis of the quartz is placed at this side, length (l), thickness (t) and width (omega) of quartz bar 1 are set in the X-axial direction, V'-axial direction and Z'-axial direction respectively and electrodes are formed on main top and reverse surfaces (X-Z' surface) of quartz bar 1. Then, when the angle between the length-l direction and the X axis considered to be in-surface rotation angle (psi) with the Y' axis regarded as an axis of rotation, angle (psi) is so set that the inflection-point temperature of each size ratio omega/t will near the normal temperature (approximately 25 deg.C) within the range where width-to-thickness size ratio omega/t is 2.5-1.8.
