Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a self lubricating diamond grindstone of high grinding efficiency by bonding conductively treated grains so as to surround a conductively treated lubricating material and form a block and then bonding said blocks to form a grinding layer.
CONSTITUTION: On the outside of a solid paraffin 1 of a diameter about 50W 200μm, a conductive coating layer 2 of plated nickel or the like is formed. On the outside of this paraffin 1, fine diamond grains 3 of about 5W30μm with conductive coating layers around them are coated in five to ten layers and are bonded by electric fusion forming a block 5. Bonding these blocks 5 on a base metal to form a grinding layer, a grindstone 6 is made. When ground with this grindstone 6, the lubricating material 1 is exposed as abrasive grains 3 drop, is melted by grinding heat and flows out playing a role of grinding fluid, and after flowed out, its space functions as a chip pocket, thus grinding efficiency can be improvdd while the wear of the grindstone can be reduced.
