CONSTITUTION:The continuous casting machine 1 is provided with the first planetary mill 3 and the second planetary mill 4. The angle of the roll axis of the first planetary mill 3 against the continuous casting line is made variable, and the position of the roll center of the mill 3 is made adjustable along the casting line. The roll axis of the second planetary mill 4 is set perpendicular to the casting line, and the roll center is shifted from the casting line. In these mills, since the material feeding direction does not coincide with the elongating direction of the billet, the material is a little crooked into a V-shaped bordering on the contact arc, and the strip runs out in a specified direction. The breadth W0 of the billet produced from the continuous casting machine 1 becomes W1 after being rolled by the first planetary mill 3, and then, this billet, under a conditiin inclining against the pass line, enters the second planetary mill 4. Here, the breadth of the billet is widened to W2 and the billet is made parallel to the pass line, by adjusting the set angle theta of the first planetary mill 3, the distance between two mills 3, 4, and the draft percentage of the rolling work.
