Abstract

PURPOSE: To control fluid of a large flow rate on the basis of a small dielectric displacement by using the electric strain of dielectric materials to operate a valve body.
CONSTITUTION: A pilot valve 14 is held by an operation rod 15 constructed of dielectric materials. When a voltage is given to lead wires 16, the operation rod 15 is bent to open the pilot valve 14. Consequently, since the fluid in a chamber B is introduced into a chamber C, the pressure in the chamber B is made lower than that in a chamber A by the reduced portion by a small hole 12, and a fluid pressure is given from the side of the chamber A to a diaphragm 11 to push up a main valve 9. When the pressure in the chamber A is equalized with the sum of the force of a spring 10 and the pressure in the chamber B, the main valve 9 is rested. Thereby, the fluid is permitted to pass through a gas between the main valve 9 and a valve seat 8 from an entrance 6 to an exit 7.
