Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the breakdown by eliminating the tensile stress in a ceramic shaft associated with the fastening and to produce only the compression stress when securing metallic impeller and a ceramic shaft thereby improving the durability of the ceramic shaft which is not strong against the tensile stress.
CONSTITUTION: A stepped hole 14 is made through the center of rotation of a metallic impeller 5 to insert a bolt 12 and a ceramic shaft 1 coaxially. When fastening a nut 8 over a screwed section 4 through a washer 7, the metallic impeller 5 and the ceramic shaft 1 are fastened through a bolt 12. When fastening through a bolt 12 in such a manner, the end of the ceramic shaft 1 between projections provided on the metallic impeller 5 and the bolt 12 is pressure contacted against the impeller 5, thereby the tensile stress isn't applied but only the compression stress is applied. Consequently the durability of the ceramic shaft 1 which is not strong against the tensile stress can be improved to prevent the breakdown.
