Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize a low-cost instrumentation which is free from the transmission delay of the signal and with omission of the countermeasures for the essential safe antiexplosion and the noise, by transmitting the output signals sent from the process adjustment gauge to the actuator in the form of the optical signals of two types of pulse duration signals. CONSTITUTION:The output signal is delivered from process adjustment gauge 1 in the form of the difference of the pulse duration between the two types of pulse duration signals. And these two types of pulse duration signals are transmitted to actuator 3 installed at the site in the form of the optical signals and via optical fiber transmission line 2. At actuator 3, the red and green optical signals transmitted from gauge 1 are selected through filters 31 and 32 each to be received at photodiodes 41 and 42. The current corresponding to the pulse duration of the received light flows at diodes 41 and 42 each.
