Abstract

PURPOSE:To operate blast, atomization, and mixture simultaneously stably and continuously, by improving impellers of the ordinary centrifugal or cross flow blower slightly and by installing a simple narrow tube for liquid dropping in a proper position of the impeller main plate. CONSTITUTION:The impeller is used where blades 2 and 5 are fixed to main plate 1 of the impeller so that the relation between blade exit width (b) and position (c) of main plate 1 may be 0<=c<=b. Liquid is dropped onto main plate 1 through single or many narrow tubes 9, which are so provided that positions (a) of narrow tubes 9 for the rotation center of this impeller and inside diameter di of the impeller may hold relation 0<=a<=di/2, to operate blast, atomization, and mixture simultaneously. Dropped liquid constitutes liquid film 17 on main plate 1 and becomes minute drops 18 and is scatterred due to the centrifugal effect dependent upon rotation of the main plate and the unstable effect of the liquid film dependent upon the high-speed shearing flow (speed distribution 19) generated by blast action.
